A Night of Worship @ Pleasant Valley

There is a love that will not quit on you. It reaches into every corner of creation and into the depths of you, it comes after you when you wander, and it keeps making its case until your heart says yes. On the evening of Thursday, August 27, Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren is setting aside a night to celebrate that love, and every church in the Shenandoah District is warmly invited.

The night is an evening of contemporary praise and worship, joyful and welcoming, the kind of gathering a person tends to leave lighter than they came in. It moves as a journey. We gather in worship, we travel together through three facets of God’s love, and we are sent back out into the valley carrying it with us.

The evening moves through three facets of one love

Pervasive love.  The love that fills all creation and reaches the depths of you.

Persistent love.  The love that will not quit and will not let go.

Persuasive love.  The love that pursues you and wins your heart.

This night is for everyone. For the lifelong churchgoer and for the person who has not walked through a church door in years. For the students just beginning the year at Bridgewater College and the high schoolers across the valley. And for our sisters and brothers in the churches of the district. If you are reading this from a sister congregation, consider it your invitation, to come yourselves, to tell your people, and to make the drive together. There is room for all of you. Come, and bring a friend.
