How Do We Love Our Enemies? Zoom CEU Event
February 18 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$20The Shenandoah District Pastors for Peace are sponsoring a continuing education event, How Do We Love Our Enemies, led by Dr. Hyung Jin (Pablo) Kim Sun, academic mentor at Northwest College and Seminary, Louisville Scholar at the Louisville Institute, and an ordained minister in the Mennonite Church Eastern Canada.
Using his book, “Who Are Our Enemies and How Do We Love Them?,” this Zoom event will address the witness of peace churches in situations of aggression and war like the one in Ukraine. How do we think about Jesus’ call to loving the enemy, turning the other cheek, and putting away the sword when hospitals and maternity wards are being targeted for destruction? What good is a peace position if it has no response to the actual brutalities and atrocities of war?
This Zoom event will take place on Saturday, February 18, from 1-4 p.m. (EST). Participants are expected to read Pablo’s book, “Who Are Our Enemies and How Do We Love Them?” before the event (and provide the book themselves). The Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership will issue .3 CEUs for full participation.
Registration is $10, or $20 for those wishing to receive CEU credit. Register online below and mail checks made out to the Shenandoah District Church of the Brethren with Pastors for Peace in the memo line at P.O. Box 67, Weyers Cave, VA 24486.
