District Bible School: “Gathering Around the Word Together in God’s Presence”

The District Discipleship Ministries Team invites people from across the District to a time of relaxed fellowship, prayer, study and renewal of relationship with God and each other. This District Bible School session is titled “Gathering Around the Word Together in God’s Presence.” The event will be held on October 8 at the Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren (2788 Taylor Spring Lane, Harrisonburg) from 4-6:30 p.m. A light supper will be provided.

Shane Lilly, a pastor and leader in the Shenandoah Valley, will be the presenter. Lilly has been in pastoral ministry for the past 35 years. He graduated from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, and the School of the Local Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. During his 35 years in ministry, Lilly has served in several churches from Kansas to his home state of Virginia. Beyond his pastoral ministry, he has been highly involved in international and local missions. He currently serves as the chairman of the board of Love INC in Fishersville.

Lilly has been given the opportunity to minister in many churches from different denominations, building strong relationships with pastors and leaders and strengthening the unity of the Body of Christ. In 2022, Lilly and his wife, Renee, established Encounter Discipleship Network, a discipleship and church planting movement serving as a catalyst for transformation in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
